ADMINISTRATION

At the national level, the ESI Scheme is administrated by a Statutory body called the Employee’s State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Set up under ESI Act, 1948, which comprises representatives of Employers', Employers', the Central Government, State Governments, Medical Profession and the Parliament.

A standing Committee constituted from among the members of the Corporation acts as the Executive Body for the administration of the Scheme.

At the state level, Regional Boards have been constituted in each state and the grass root level, Local Committee have been formed as advisory bodies for smooth functioning of the Scheme.

Sub Regional Office, Madurai is headed by Shri. R. Anil Chandra Bhat, Director. Eight officers and 92 Staffs are working in the Madurai region. There are 14 Branch Offices 6 pay offices and nine Inspectrate offices are functioning under the control of Director.
